Bringing help and hope.

Listening Ear is a Christian led service, born out of the desire to offer help and hope through compassionate listening and caring support to those in need within the city of Inverness.

Our connection with CCC

Listening Ear is one of our pastoral outreach ministries at CCC and grew out of shared vision with the leadership team to reach out to our community. Our Listening Ear team lead has a close partnership with the Pastor and Elders and regular working group meetings are held where all aspects of the service are looked at and prayed about.

Listening Ear is a ministry of Culduthel Christian Centre

Sharing the love of Christ through getting alongside those in need and listening well

Listening Ear, based in Inverness, offers a free, confidential and safe place for listening and support within the city of Inverness. We run out of our local church and our desire is to bring help and hope to those in need of a listening Ear. Our service is motivated by our Christian faith and values but our service is inclusive, open to everyone and anyone is welcome to come along to Listening Ear.

At Listening Ear we can provide listening and support through one to one sessions, our weekly drop-ins and our bereavement support. Our aim is to provide one of our trained team to get alongside you to listen to whatever it is you want to talk about. We are available to support you in the way which suits you best; whether you just want to come and talk to us as a one off over coffee or whether you want to come more regularly to the drop-in or to receive 1:1 sessions each week.

What We Do

Taking the first step

At Listening Ear, we understand that taking the first step to reach out and ask for help can be hard. We also appreciate that sometimes it is difficult to know where to go for help or to get the help that you know you need. If you are not sure what support you need or what might help, having a space to be listened to can help you to gain insight and make decisions about the best way forward.

When you take that first step to reach out to us, either by sending us a text, emailing, phoning or popping in to one of our drop-ins, we will offer you an initial time to meet with us. This first meeting is normally with our Team Lead who is an experienced practitioner and qualified counsellor. At this meeting you will have opportunity to talk and be listened to. We will also talk about how Listening Ear works and together we will look at whether Listening Ear can help you or whether you need a different kind of support. If we think a different type of support is needed we can give you information and help you connect to the support you need. If Listening Ear is right for you, we can discuss whether one to one support is best or whether you would like to join our weekly Listening ear group or our next bereavement journey course.

Our Church Partners

Listening Ear started partnering with Hilton Parish church in 2021 to run a weekly drop-in group. We are so thankful for their prayer support and their generosity with allowing us to use their rooms and facilities each week. Our team lead has a close partnership relationship with the Minister at Hilton.
